Monster High......Happy 7th birthday!

Over the years my niece has always requested the theme of her birthday cakes, however this year I decided to surprise her with this 'monster high' theme cake. She loved it!

It's a chocolate fudge cake filled with dark chocolate ganache, covered and decorated with several fondant features.

Ombre Buttercream!

A family birthday is always a good opportunity to experiment with new decorating techniques. My father and sister's birthday as a great opportunity to experiment with ombre buttercream.  

The cake is marble vanilla bean filled and iced with vanilla bean buttercream.

Stormtropper!

Vanilla bean marble cake covered with dark chocolate ganache and decorating in an unmistakable design.

The birthday boy's reaction to his cake was priceless.

Minecraft......Happy 8th Birthday

Chocolate fudge cake filled with dark chocolate ganache. To some people it may just look like a big square but it's actually a 'Minecraft' theme cake.

2014 McKeough Family Christmas cake.

This family Christmas cake is made with  a recipe selected by my late mother.  The fruit and nuts are soaked for several days in Grand Marnier, giving it a lovely moist flavour.

Minnie Mouse.....Happy 1st Birthday

A Minnie Mouse inspired cake to celebrate the 1st birthday of a very beautiful little girl.  The bottom tier is chocolate mud cake and the top tier vanilla bean.  To accompany the cake is a mini 'smash cake', also vanilla bean.
