The colours may be traditional of Christmas but the design is a little more contemporary and could be adapted for any occasion.

2013 McKeough Family Christmas Cake
Christmas Day is a very special day in my family and each year I make the cake. My young nieces, Ruby (5) and McKenzie (3) suggested the design wanting a "Mary" cake. I do think they would have preferred a chocolate cake rather than the fruit cake recipe my late mother selected.

A Festive Welcome.....
I don't usually make a Christmas cake for my husband and I but this year we are hosting some international friends for a couple of days so I thought a festive welcome would be appreciated.

He Cranks My Tractor.....
Happy 70th Birthday......and why not celebrate with a tractor cake.
The cake is vanilla butter cake, a recipe with a slightly lower sugar content to reduce the overall "sweetness". Naturally, 100% edible.

100s and 1000s burst of Happiness.
There is an inner child in all of us - who doesn't remember eating fairy bread at birthday parties? This cake is fun, and the texture of the buttercream and the crunch of the 100s and 1000s bursts with happiness.
The cake is marble vanilla bean, with vanilla bean butter cream. The people who shared this cake were in awe of the flavour!
It was wonderful feedback.

TKO.......Happy Birthday!
It's my husband's birthday so I consulted with my little apprentice designer Ruby, my 5 year old niece. With much excitement she suggested I make a 'fighting cake.'She knows her Uncle Nee Naw (as she fondly calls him) is a massive UFC fan.
The cake is chocolate, filled with dark chocolate ganache; also Ruby's recommendation.

Most occasions in my family include a cake, and thanks to my lovely nieces Ruby (5) and McKenzie (3) this also includes a candle and having to sing "Happy Birthday" and Father's Day was no different.
The cake is Ombre Vanilla Bean, filled and iced with Vanilla Bean Buttercream and then covered with 100s & 1000s.

Madagascar
I loved making this colourful and happy cake to celebrate the birthdays of Bianca (3) and Hayden (5).
If you are going to celebrate two birthdays , why not have a cake with two flavours; bottom tier is devils food cake filled with dark chocolate ganache and the top tier is a vanilla bean cake filled with white chocolate ganache.
Eight not Out!
I received an order to make a cake for Benji's 8th birthday, a keen cricketer. Benji's mother loved a cricket theme cake I had previously made and ordered the same.

Solar Electric......
The University of NSW contacted me to make a cake for the launch of their fifth generation solar electric car. I was given a the car's profile image and asked to make a cake reflective of the profile. To serve 100 people this devils food cake (chocolate) is 76 centimetres in length, filled with dark chocolate ganache, covered with fondant and finished with a hand painted "Sunswift" logo.

Happy Birthday Princess!
No, you are not seeing double. One slightly smaller cake for an intimate family gathering and the other for the actual party. Both cakes are butter cake, which has a low sugar content (as requested by the customer) and are lightly filled with white chocolate ganache.
Each cake was identically decorated with fondant tiaras, rolled roses and finished with hearts.

Off and Racing - Happy 2nd Birthday
Hip, hip, hooray......Happy Birthday!
A good friend asked me to make his 60th birthday cake without any creative direction, however he did mention that he liked my white chocolate mud cake. So, the end result is a white chocolate mud cake for the bottom tier and devils food cake (chocolate) for the top tier.
I opted for an eye catching design with simple colours to enhance the effect.

Buzzbee....
Not only do I enjoy making cakes but I also learn of new characters, bands, games, etc - and now Buzzbee.
Alexander's 2nd birthday cake is devils food cake (chocolate) filled with dark chocolate ganache. To accompany the cake were 30 chocolate cupcakes topped with chocolate buttercream and handmade Buzzbees.
Love Her (him) Madly
The hand painted picture of Jim Morrison (The Doors) and the simple colours of black and white were a big hit at my nephew's 18th birthday party.
